Borderlands 2 developer Gearbox Software has discussed its plans for future DLC. If fan interest holds up beyond the current run, a second season of DLC could be on the cards. The recently announced Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt is only the third of four planned pieces of DLC for the loot-based shooter, and 2K wants to continue to support the game even afterwards; so long as fans show interest.
Additionally, 2K confirmed that Borderlands 2 will have the current level 50 cap raised sometime in the first quarter of next year. It’s not sure if this would appear in the as yet unannounced 4th expansion, or as part of a different DLC altogether. What’s sure is the statement that “the method Gearbox is exploring will make you want to play the whole game again”.
The Sir Hammerlock Big Game Hunt expansion is out January 15th on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Here’s the official trailer:
